THERE'S NO WAY OUT BUT NEW WAY IN
A conversation with myself regarding my trauma experience.
Color pencil and pastel on paper
After being an attempted sexual assault by an acquaintance, the huge part of my sensation has been shut down. Including the channel of receive and express, the ability to feel pleased, grateful, surprised, excited, scared, anxious, angry, despaired, or the eager to make the connection. Even without physical harm, Invisible scars will always be with me and It changes everything around me, they became new, strange, funny, soft or aggressive.
This project aims to make the intangible feeling into tangible, a bit of tentative, hesitating and curious. In this world, “she” starts to use her senses again, to try, to approach, to be curious again. Every act is an effort.
